Photos from the protest are now up on flickr - you can access it by clicking the slideshow on my sidebar. I'm wrestling with the internet to let me put up a video of one of the outbursts of singing and dancing in the protest- but I'm tired of fighting with it, so hopefully tomorrow I can get it to work. My bandwith doesn't seem very cooperative, but at least the photos worked.
And since the loud machinery that has been running in the street outside my house has finally quieted down somewhat, maybe I can go to sleep now. That'd be nice, since it's quarter after 5... At least I ran into my dad and Heidi on chat for a while - something good finally came out of not being able to sleep! And at least I don't have class tomorrow. I once heard the line "Sleep is for the weak!" but I think I rather disagree.

It's also possible that sleep is for the weak. Although, I do hear that those weeks can get pretty tired... ;)
Cool photos! A bunch of them are really well posed, even if inadvertantly!
Hehe, yeah, I guess I can't tell my homonyms apart at 5 am. Thanks for the pointer. 'Tis corrected. Can weekends get tired, too?
Thanks! I spent a long time running in and out of the crowd to try to get some shots before my battery died again (I had just come home with an empty battery and charged it for about 5 minutes before running out to go see the protest, so I'm glad I got any at all!) and am pleased that some of them came out well. Kind of hard with people chanting and marching, though. And you're right, it was a ... different... kind of experience. Pretty interesting, even if the 3-strikes-in-2-days thing messed with my plans. I'm just grateful nothing went really badly with the mess coming home and there being no public transport...
I wonder what would happen if Middkids all started protesting the comprehensive fee and refused to go to class... Might not be as effective as it is here.
